Qualifications

• MSN required with evidence of teaching/education in clinical or academic settings.
• Minimum 5 years clinical experience in the served areas (Critical Care, Med/Surg, Women's, Peds or ED).
• Active RN license required; BLS required; ACLS/PALS may be required depending on area.
• Ability to develop curriculum and deliver education using evidence-based practice.

Summary

The RN - Advanced Clinical Educator has demonstrated a commitment to higher Education and is responsible for developing staff throughout Baptist Health by providing expertise as an Educator, Consultant, Facilitator, Change Agent, Leader, and Researcher. The Educator shall be responsible to support the development of new and current staff, foster empowerment and the development of knowledge through the use of evidence-based practice, relationship based care, SMART principles, and principles of adult learning. This individual will utilize the Benner Model to move staff through the contimum from novice to expert. This will occur by facilitating the educational process through assessment, development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of competency, continuing education and leadership development. In addition, the Educator will serve as a role model of professional behavior. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.

Education / Experience

MSN required with demonstrated evidence of experience in teaching/education of at least 2 years in the clinical or academic setting; minimum 5 years clinical experience required in the area of served (Critical Care, Med/Surg, Women's Services, Peds or ED)

License / Certification

Active RN license required, BLS required, additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, service line specific, etc) may be required depending upon area assigned

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Position requires sitting for 70% of the workday and mobility 30% of the workday. There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action. Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds. There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person. Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range. Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels. Much exposure to computer work. Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock. Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks. Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
