Job summary

Synergy HomeCare of Piscataway in Plainfield, New Jersey is seeking a compassionate Child Caregiver to provide one-on-one care for children with developmental disabilities and special needs in a home-based setting. You will develop care plans, support daily living activities, and help with physical, emotional, and cognitive development.

A high school diploma is required; related degree preferred. CPR/First Aid and TB test are required, plus a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in early childhood education, social work, or a related field preferred
• Experience working with children with special needs
• Basic life support certification (CPR/First Aid) and TB test required
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support to children with developmental disabilities, mental health needs, or complex medical conditions in a home-based setting
• Develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs and goals of each child
• Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
• Engage in activities that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive development, including play therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of care and progress
• Communicate effectively with families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless transitions and collaboration

Education
