Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network in the Lehigh Valley region seeks a skilled cardiac device nurse to support patients with rhythm disturbances and implantable devices. You will collaborate with cardiology specialists and perform remote device monitoring as part of the total care plan.

The role requires interpreting intracardiac and surface electrograms, troubleshooting devices, and generating comprehensive diagnostic reports to guide provider decisions.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Cardiovascular, Life Science, or other related field.
• 3 years experience working with cardiac devices.
• Ability to interpret arrhythmias from intracardiac and surface electrograms and identify normal vs. abnormal device function.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic, intermediate, and advanced device issues.
• Ability to perform device interrogations, pacemaker telephone checks, and remote device transmissions.
• Must demonstrate triage skills in evaluating reports and communicating effective patient care.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes data from a wide variety of cardiac devices identifying arrhythmias and device abnormalities.
• Reprograms devices as directed by physician to optimize pacemaker performance.
• Provides full diagnostic reports from external monitoring and device checks for provider follow-up.
• Coordinates daily function of pacemaker or defibrillator clinic(s).
• Manages patient enrollment, equipment requests, alert management, and patient education.
• Performs device checks in office or trans-telephonically.
