Job summary

BWXT is seeking an Assembly & Fabrication Manufacturing Technician for on-site work in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. You will perform hands-on assembly, fabrication, testing, process development, and provide facility support for complex mechanical systems.

You will coordinate with engineering, quality, project teams, and operations to ensure safe, high-quality production while developing new manufacturing technologies and processes. A strong background in fabrication and tools is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 10+ years of fabrication, facility operations or technical environments; degree may substitute.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Citizenship in the U.S. and ability to obtain/maintain clearance.

Responsibilities

• Execute fabrication and assembly of complex components and test equipment.
• Support fabrication, assembly, testing, and inspection of mechanical components and systems.
• Assist in developing and qualifying advanced manufacturing technologies and new processes.
• Assemble prototype and production equipment.
• Operate machine tools, hand tools, power tools, and automated equipment.
• Support QC for in-process and final component inspection.
• Maintain shop and lab cleanliness and organization.
• Coordinate with engineering, EHS, project controls, and management.
