Job summary

Selective Insurance Company of America invites rising undergraduates to join the Ignite Internship program at our Short Hills, NJ headquarters for Summer 2027. Qualifications

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Critical thinking and analytical skills; you will be identifying solutions to a problem, not simply executing existing solutions.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
• Beginner level of experience with Python; higher levels preferred.
• Experience with SQL a plus.
• Working towards or have a degree in an analytical field such as mathematics, statistics, data science, machine learning or computer science.
• High School Diploma required; undergrad juniors or seniors preferred.

Responsibilities

The Advanced Analytics department is responsible for creating descriptive and prescriptive statistics and models to support the operational functions of the organization. This includes providing guidance on suspected fraud, opportunities to recover claims paid, expected probability of issuing a policy, marketing statistics and targeting, as well as many other areas. Please note, this is a hybrid position, therefore, applicants must be within commuting distance of our Short Hills, NJ location.

Pay Range

USD $22.00 - USD $25.00 /Hr.
