Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an Airframe Design Supervisor in San Diego, CA. The role leads a team of engineers responsible for the design, development, production support, and continuous improvement of aircraft structural systems.

Ideal candidate has 15+ years of leadership in airframe design, strong expertise in composite and metallic structures, and can drive production transition. DoD Secret Clearance is required; CREO/NX/MBD skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees may reduce experience required.
• 15+ years in leadership roles (Lead/Supervisor/Manager) in airframe design.
• Experience designing composite and/or metallic aircraft/spacecraft structures; production transition experience.

Full-Time Job Opporunity for an Advanced Airframe Design Supervisor local to San Diego, CA. Salaried between $120,000-230,000/yr. Insight Global is seeking an Airframe Design Supervisor for a top aerospace and defense client.

This candidate will lead a team of engineers responsible for the design, development, production support, and continuous improvement of aircraft structural systems. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in metallic and composite airframe structures, technical leadership experience, and a proven track record of transitioning designs into production. This role offers the opportunity to work on advanced aerospace platforms, collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams, influence department strategy, and drive innovative solutions that improve aircraft performance, manufacturability, and affordability. The position is highly visible within the organization and provides direct impact on both current production programs and future aircraft development efforts.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience, with the last years being in a leadership positions: Lead, Supervisor, Manager.
• Bachelor's required, if an applicant has a Master's or PhD - we can lower the years of experience.

Required Skills

• Proven experience designing composite and/or metallic aircraft or spacecraft structures.
• Proven track record bringing airframe structures from design into production.
• Strong technical leadership experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance is required.

Preferred Skills

• Proficiency with CREO and NX CAD Modeling and drawing or MBD
• Ability to document, trade, and communicate pro/cons of structural designs based on performance/DFM/DFC
