Job summary

Trane Technologies in Texas is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to lead cross-functional quality improvement initiatives across residential operations and suppliers. You will apply data analytics and structured problem-solving to reduce defects and drive permanent corrective actions across new product launches.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 5+ years in quality/reliability in high-volume manufacturing, and travel up to 30% across the Americas.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Quality, Reliability, or Product Development in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Proven success leading cross-functional quality improvement and cost reduction projects.
  • Experience with stage-gate product development and manufacturing readiness processes (PDP, NPD, MRT, PPAP).
  • Strong knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, GD&T, and root-cause methodologies.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% across the Americas.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional quality improvement initiatives to reduce defects, scrap, COPQ, and warranty exposure across residential operations and suppliers.
  • Use data analytics, field feedback, and structured problem‑solving methods to identify issues and drive permanent corrective actions.
  • Partner with NPD teams to embed Design for Quality and support manufacturing readiness for new product launches.
  • Define and flow down critical quality requirements, including CTQs, KPCs, and GD&T, to plants and suppliers.
  • Drive process validation activities such as PFMEA, MSA, Control Plans, Safe Launch, and Run‑at‑Rate to ensure manufacturing readiness and stable production.
  • Coach and mentor quality engineers and cross-functional teams on quality tools, standard work, and continuous improvement.

What You Will Do

Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:

$89,585.00 - $143,700.00 Compensation Type: Salary Incentive Eligible: No Sales Commission Eligible: No Disclaimer: We strive to provide competitive compensation for this position, tailored to a variety of factors. The actual compensation will depend on elements such as seniority, merit, geographic location, education, experience, travel requirements, and union designation. Our compensation range is generally based on the national average for the country.
