Job summary

POSITION SUMMARY: The Advanced Practice Provider is a licensed professional who will function independently but provide outpatient care in collaboration with a psychiatrist. They will plan, implement, and evaluate treatment in accordance with patient care standards and physician orders, as applicable. They will act as a liaison between the physicianand the patient/family, and collaborate with other health care professionals as appropriate. They may assist in the orientation of new employees and may participate in hospital or department committees. They must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age groups, according to specific chronological age, developmental age, and/or psycho-social maturity.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Nurse Practitioner: State of Ohio graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Physician Assistant: Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program. Master degree preferred, or eligibility for prescriptive authority under Ohio law.

Required length of experience:

Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a physician's office or hospital setting (experience in the clinical setting a plus); Clinical skills required will be dictated by the scope of services offered. Must have strong organizational skills and communication skills, with the general public, in person and on the telephone.

Experience in the specialty area indicated preferred.

Required licensure, certification, and/or registry:

Nurse Practitioner: Current licensure by the Ohio State Board of Nursing

Physician Assistant: Current PA licensure by the State Medical Board of Ohio
