Job summary

The City of Los Angeles is seeking an Advance Practice Provider for correctional care facilities. The role involves obtaining medical histories, performing examinations, ordering tests, and delivering medical care under department protocols.

Initial appointments are expected to be part-time, paid at an hourly rate of $64.78. A 5.5% certification bonus and an 8.25% night shift differential may apply, with comprehensive benefits provided.

• Order and interpret diagnostic tests as required by protocols
• Assess medical conditions and provide appropriate medical care and treatment

Job description

Appointments from the eligible list are made at the lowest pay grade. Part-time appointments from the eligible list are hired at an hourly rate ($64.78).

A 5.5% bonus may be paid upon proof of certification by a recognized national professional organization in a specialty that is relevant and applicable to the duties performed. An 8.25% night shift differential bonus is applied for night work.

• Initial appointments are anticipated to be made on a part-time basis.

An Advance Practice Provider is responsible for obtaining medical histories, performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, assessing medical conditions, providing medical care and treatment, and performing related duties as required under standardized procedures and/or protocols established by the department at the LAPD correctional care facilities.
