Job summary

The State of Missouri is seeking a dedicated professional to protect seniors and adults with disabilities. The role involves investigating cases, conducting home visits, and coordinating protective services in a multi-county area from Union, MO.

Travel and on-call duties are required. Minimum qualifications include strong communication and interviewing skills, independence within a team, resilience and critical thinking.

Qualifications

• High level communication and interviewing skills.
• Able to work independently with initiative within a team.
• Resilient with critical and innovative thinking.
• Bachelor's degree; relevant experience (LPN/RN or social services) may substitute for education.
• For APS Specialist II, one+ year in Adult Protective Services or related field.

Responsibilities

• Investigate reports of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of the elderly (60+) and disabled (18+).
• Conduct home visits to observe surroundings and interview victims and caregivers.
• Coordinate interventions and ongoing protective services needs.
• Be available to be in an on call rotation with other team members.
• Travel locally to conduct home visits, attend hearings and trainings; minimal overnight travel.
