Job summary

Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) - Adult Protective Services is recruiting for an Adult Protective Services Case Manager 2 in Cleveland, GA. You will investigate adult protective reports, assess risk, coordinate resources, and pursue guardianship when needed to protect vulnerable adults.

Required is a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with preference for Human Services background. Telework opportunities may be available depending on the position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university OR one year of experience at lower-level Adult Protective Services CM 1 (SSP170) or equivalent.
• Preference will be given to candidates with a degree in Human Services.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial investigations of protective service reports for APS criteria.
• Evaluate risk levels to clients and take action to ensure safety.
• Provide follow-up and connections to resources to stabilize situations.
• Initiate guardianship processes when necessary for incapacitated adults.
• Maintain required documentation and timely reports.
• Stay updated on policies, laws, and trends through trainings and meetings.
