Adult Nurse Practitioner - Cardiology

Experience preferred in Cardiology.

Summary:

Under nursing administration and in clinical collaboration with a physician, incumbents of this class provide comprehensive primary care in the areas of Adult Cardiology, including health education, preventive medicine, communicable diseases, and diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Incumbents deliver primary medical care through examinations, assessments, and necessary procedures. Supervision may be part of this role, and instructional guidance is provided to nursing and other healthcare professionals within the area of expertise. Performs related work as required.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Possession of a valid license and current registration issued by the New York State Education Department as a Registered Professional Nurse.
2. At least two years of professional nursing experience.
3. Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner with prescription writing privileges issued by the New York State Education Department, to be maintained throughout employment.
