Job summary

Urbana School District #116 is seeking an Adult Education Student Advisor at the Urbana Adult Education Center. The role focuses on strengthening home/school/community partnerships and addressing social, emotional, and educational needs of adult learners.

The position emphasizes outreach, student assessment, and collaboration with teachers and community agencies to promote successful outcomes and reduce barriers to learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, education, or psychology; Master's degree preferred.
• Two years or more of school-based and/or social service experience preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration and data entry skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide outreach and liaison between students, families, staff and community agencies.
• Teach life skills, transitions, employability and career planning workshops.
• Support students on advisory rosters and maintain home/school connections.
• Assist with student registration, orientation, and data entry requirements.
• Participate in truancy/behavior remediation efforts and coordinate with community resources.
