A dedicated educational service provider is seeking an Adult Education Program Support Specialist for a part-time role based in Lansing, Michigan. The specialist will provide administrative, enrollment, data management, and program support services essential for the successful operation of the Adult Education Program. Ideal candidates have administrative experience and proficiency with Google Suite, alongside a High School diploma.

Qualifications

  • One or more years of experience in administrative support, enrollment management, or program coordination preferred.
  • Experience in an educational, workforce development, or social services setting strongly preferred.
  • Experience in educational/workforce development setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage student application and enrollment processes ensuring accurate intake.
  • Maintain and update student spreadsheets, rosters, and files using Google Drive.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and support student testing.
  • Support student retention through proactive outreach.
  • Assist MAERS data entry, reporting, and updates.
  • Support student retention through outreach and reminders.
  • Collaborate with instructional staff to support student progress and address barriers.
  • Travel between CAMW! Lansing, other sites, and jail facilities as needed.

POSITION: Adult Education Program Support Specialist

AFFILIATION: NONA/Contracted with EduStaff

REPORTS TO: Director of Adult Education

Job Title: Program Support Specialist (Part-Time, On-Site at CAMW!)

Summary: Under the overall supervision of the Director of Adult Education, the Program Support Specialist provides essential administrative, enrollment, data management, and program support services to ensure the smooth operation and success of the Eaton RESA Adult Education Program. This role is primarily office-based, with regular collaboration, meetings, and classroom visits across the tri-county region. The Program Support Specialist plays a key role in managing application and enrollment processes, tracking attendance and outcomes, supporting testing and assessment activities, and maintaining strong communication with students and instructional staff.

Hours: Approximately 20-30 hours per week, variable pending program needs.

Hourly Pay: Commensurate with experience.

Note: This position would start in July 2026, pending grant approvals.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Application, Enrollment & Attendance Management

  • Manage student application and enrollment processes, ensuring timely and accurate intake.
  • Maintain and update class rosters, enrollment records, and attendance tracking systems.
  • Monitor student participation and follow up with students regarding attendance, scheduling, and status changes.
  • Ensure student records are complete, accurate, and maintained in compliance with confidentiality requirements.

Data Management & Record Keeping

  • Maintain and update student spreadsheets, rosters, and files using Google Drive and other internal systems.
  • Record and update student case notes with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Regularly follow up with current students to collect updated contact information and program status.
  • Support program compliance through consistent documentation practices.

Assessment, Testing & Proctoring Support

  • Coordinate, schedule, and support student testing, including pre- and post‑assessments.
  • Provide test proctoring support at Capital Area Michigan Works! (CAMW! Lansing) and additional classroom sites, including correctional facilities in Eaton and Clinton Counties.
  • Ensure testing materials are properly handled, organized, secured, and compliant with testing regulations.
  • Assist with MAERS (Michigan Adult Education Reporting System) data entry, reporting, and updates.
  • Pull and review reports from DRC (Data Recognition Corporation) to support assessment tracking and program monitoring.

Student Support & Retention

  • Support student retention through proactive outreach, reminders, and encouragement.
  • Assist students in navigating program processes and connecting with appropriate community or program resources.
  • Collaborate with instructional staff to support student progress and address barriers to participation.

Recruitment, Outreach & Follow-Up

  • Assist with recruitment and re‑engagement efforts, including outreach to past students.
  • Track and record employment and outcome updates for former students in MAERS to support program reporting and success measures.
  • Maintain basic outreach and contact logs as required.
Working Conditions & Schedule
  • Part‑time, EduStaff contracted position.
  • Primarily office‑based, with meetings and classroom visits across Ingham, Eaton, and Clinton counties.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to support testing, enrollment events, or program needs.
  • Reliable transportation is required due to travel between program sites, including CAMW! Lansing, additional classroom locations, and jail facilities.
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • One or more years of experience in administrative support, data entry, enrollment management, or program coordination preferred.

Experience in an educational, workforce development, or social services setting strongly preferred.

Strongly preferred lived experience as an adult education student, or supporting adult education students.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets) and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to learn and effectively use specialized data systems (MAERS, DRC, OSMIS or similar).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data and record management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
