Job summary

SUNY Ulster is seeking an Outreach and Program Navigator to recruit workforce students for advanced technology programs and coordinate their entry into these programs. The role is grant funded through December 31, 2027, with potential extension as funds allow, and involves targeted community outreach and guiding students through onboarding.

Responsibilities include attending information sessions for adult students, advising on prerequisites, assisting with registration and financial aid

Qualifications

Associate’s Degree required.
Knowledge of college processes including LMS, Financial Aid and Registration.
Preferred: experience supporting students with special needs.
Demonstrated commitment to student success.
Experience as a job coach, vocational counselor or employment trainer.
Multilingual (preferred).

Responsibilities

Attend Open Houses and Information Sessions targeted to adult students.
Advise students on prerequisites to ensure resources for training.
Assist with registration, including scholarships and FAFSA/Part-time TAP/Workforce Pell applications.
Facilitate communication between students, tutors and supportive services.
Develop relationships with local employers aligned with programs for adult students.
Assist students with services needed to help ensure program success.
