Job summary

Van Wert Works seeks an experienced educator to lead Adult Education in Fire and Emergency Services. The instructor will prepare, evaluate, and mentor students toward EMS provider certification, delivering both classroom and hands-on instruction for Emergency Medical Responder and EMT courses.

A strong commitment to EMS training and staying current with practices is essential. Candidates must hold Ohio Instructor I/II, EMT/AEMT/Paramedic certifications, and be willing to obtain an Ohio

Qualifications

• Valid Ohio Instructor I or II certification in good standing.
• Valid Ohio EMS certification (EMT/AEMT/Paramedic) in good standing.
• Willingness to obtain Ohio Department of Education License for the position.
• Criminal background must be clear for public school employment.

Adult Education – Fire and Emergency Services Instructor

Summary

The primary objective is to prepare, evaluate, and mentor students to become highly competent, certified EMS providers. Provide both classroom and hands-on instruction for whole or partial classes for Emergency Medical Responder and/or Emergency Medical Technician.

Experience

• Holds a valid, in good standing, Ohio Fire and Emergency Services Instructor I or II Certification
• Holds a valid, in good standing, Ohio Emergency Medical Technician, Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, or Paramedic Certification
• Able/willing to obtain a valid Ohio Department of Education License for the position
• A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment
• Complies with drug-free workplace and board policies
• Has an in-depth knowledge of EMS skills and practices
• Has a strong commitment to EMS training and education
• Willingness to keep current with technology and other workplace innovations that support job functions
