Job summary

Community Resource Network of Florida, LLC. in Port Charlotte is seeking an Adult Day Life Skills instructor to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving independence. The role runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and offers hourly pay of $16.00.

The successful candidate will provide person-centered services, maintain daily documentation, and help with meals and daily activities while ensuring health, safety, and respectful treatment.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED required.
• College credits or degree can substitute for time of service.
• Must pass Level II background
• Must pass drug screen

Responsibilities

• Provide individual-specific service in compliance with service descriptions.
• Complete all documentation requirements, including daily notes/service logs and summaries on progress toward goals.
• Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis as well as a calm environment throughout the facility.
• Report all changes in the individuals condition to the manager or director.
• Greet, assist and escort individuals to classrooms and all areas within the facility.
• Facilitate daily classes and activities per the Person-Centered philosophy.
• Assist individuals with meals and with bowel and bladder functions.
• Ensure health and safety and that individuals are treated with kindness, dignity and respect.

Education

Job Summary

Looking for a full or part time Instructor to work in our Adult Day Life Skills program in Port Charlotte. Hours are Monday thru Friday between 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Responsibilities And Duties

• Provide individual-specific service in compliance with service descriptions as defined in service directory/specific attachments and core assurances
• Complete all documentation requirements, including daily notes/service logs and summaries on progress toward established support plan and implementation plan goals.
• Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis as well as a calm environment throughout the facility.
• Report all changes in the Individuals condition to the manager or director
• Greet / assist and escort Individuals to their classrooms, and all areas within the facility.
• Classes and activities will be facilitated daily and adhere to the Person-Centered philosophy.
• Assist Individuals with meals. Assist Individuals with bowel and bladder functions
• Ensure the health and safety of all Individuals, and that Individuals are treated with kindness, dignity and respect.

Requirements

A minimum of one year of experience working in a medical, psychiatric, nursing or child care/ adult care setting or working with individuals who have an intellectual and/or developmental disability. College credits or degree can substitute for time of service.
