Job summary

Help For Brain Injured Children, Inc. is seeking a dedicated caregiver/behavior intervention assistant to support clients with multiple disabilities. You will work under supervision to assist with daily living activities and behavior support.

Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications, including TB and background clearances, RBT training or completion within 30 days, and a valid Class C driver's license. This on-site role requires physical stamina and compassionate engagement.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old or older.
• TB clearance and satisfactory Health screening prior to first day of employment.
• LIVE SCAN background clearance prior to first day of employment.
• High School Diploma or equivalent documentation must be provided.
• Must complete a 40-hr RBT training program or complete within first 30 days.
• Must have a Class C Driver’s License with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Report daily to Lead Assistant and/or Program Director.
• Work with and supervise assigned clients.
• Assist clients with daily living activities including toileting, dressing, grooming, bathing and other hygiene tasks.
• Assist with meals; active feeding and meal prep as needed.
• Collaborate with Behavior Intervention Specialist as needed.
• Possess willingness to become certified in Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention as scheduled.
• Hold and renew Registered Behavior Technician certification annually.
• Intervene in client behaviors as directed.
• Complete Continuing Education Units (8 hours per year).
• Attend employee trainings and meetings as scheduled.
• Maintain line-of-sight supervision of clients at all times and intervene if eloping occurs.
• Assist clients in standing, sitting, and moving, up to 75 lbs with help.
• Provide daily engagement with clients throughout the day.
• Complete daily notes/documentation as directed.
• Use verbal praise and behavior reinforcement effectively.
• Perform other related duties as directed.
• Safely transport clients to community engagement trips.
