Job summary

Counseling Service of Addison County Inc is seeking a compassionate, grounded professional to support individuals experiencing psychiatric crises, substance use concerns, acute intoxication, and other behavioral health needs. You will provide short-term stabilization and crisis support, connecting clients with ongoing services using trauma-informed, recovery-oriented approaches.

The role includes overnight and day shifts (full-time, 40 hours/week) with pay of $21.43/hour plus differential pay

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and relevant experience.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and crisis-response skills.
• Ability to remain calm, maintain professional boundaries, and exercise sound judgment.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, recovery-oriented practices, and harm reduction.
• CPR/First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention, supportive counseling, de-escalation, and stabilization.
• Monitor safety and respond to changing medical, behavioral, or psychiatric needs.
• Assist with intake, documentation, discharge planning, and connections to community resources.
• Collaborate with treatment teams, medical providers, Emergency Services, and community partners.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and crisis-response skills.

• Familiarity with trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, recovery-oriented practices, and harm reduction.
• CPR/First Aid certification.

Preferred:

Experience with psychiatric emergencies, substance use disorders, or co-occurring conditions.

SCHEDULE and COMPENSATION

Full-time position at 40 hours a week. Schedule: 2 overnights (5pm-9am) and one day shift (9am-5pm), which includes weekends. $21.43/hour with shift differentials of plus $5 for overnight, and plus $4 for evening hours.
