The Department of Mental Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Clinical Social Worker (C), Adult Clinical Authorization Specialist to oversee clinical service authorization for Northeast Area applicants. You will coordinate with DMH Site Office staff, prepare detailed case presentations, and guide applicants and families through the determination process.

Requirements include a Master’s in social work and licensure as an LCSW or LICSW, with at least two years of post-master’s experience.

Competenze

• Master’s or higher degree in social work is required.
• At least two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional experience as a clinical social worker after earning a Master’s degree in social work is required.
• Substitutions: Doctorate in related fields may be substituted for the required experience (2 years education = 1 year experience).
• Licensure as a Licensed Certified Social Worker or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker is required.
• Travel may be required based on assignment.

Mansioni

• Coordinate the Clinical Service Authorization process with DMH Site Office staff and Forensic Transition Team staff.
• Prepare case presentations for review by the Area Medical Director for complex cases.
• Provide information to applicants and families about the determination process and review possible services.
• Inform applicants about the appeal process and participate in informal appeals.
• Participate in Adult Service Authorization Team meetings and respond to inquiries about the Service Authorization process.
