Job summary

Attain is building a data-driven ecosystem that lets consumers and businesses access modern financial services. We seek an Assistant General Counsel to own legal matters across our adtech and consumer fintech businesses, reporting directly to the General Counsel, with real ownership from day one.

This in‑house role focuses on data privacy and commercial contracting for advertising, while supporting the broader company.

Qualifications

• JD and active bar membership in good standing.
• Approximately 7+ years of post-JD experience, combining law firm training with time in-house.
• Deep data privacy experience, ideally in adtech, data licensing, or a data-driven consumer business.
• Substantial commercial and sales contracting experience at volume, including data licenses, MSAs, DPAs, SOWs, and order forms.
• Legal operations experience and genuine AI fluency.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and close commercial agreements for the adtech business with agencies, platforms, publishers, and networks.
• Embed with product, engineering, and growth teams to advise on new features and data flows.
• Build out the data privacy program: data inventory, consent review, and vendor diligence.
• Support expansion of the consumer fintech business with regulatory counsel.
• Develop AI-enabled contract review and self-service templates; stand up intake and policy processes.
• Manage outside counsel: scope, budget, and rate discipline.
• Cover legal needs across the company as they arise, including compliance, IP, and licensing.
