The Apprentice assists in providing a high level of technicalsupport for their assigned business unit. This includesunderstanding and documenting the business processes, reporting andanalysis of data, working on projects, improving business processesusing available tools, and more.
Assists the department he or she is assigned to with technicalissues. Works on tasks as assigned by leadership. Assists theirteam in streamlining business processes using new or currenttechnology. Documents business processes, reviews inefficiencies,and makes recommendations for improvement to supervisor. LearnsUniversity systems and data sets in order to accurately extractinformation from those systems. Adheres to Liberty Universitypolicies, representing the University in an exemplary andprofessional manner. Works effectively as a team member, embracingand fostering LU’s Christian model and Mission – Training Championsfor Christ.
Analyze workflow issues and data integrity problems, providerecommendations on resolution and advise management accordingly.Conducting and leading projects to accompany the transformation ofyour clients’ business processes through the effective collection,processing, and visualization of data. Document and optimizebusiness processes by researching industry’s best practices andsupporting the development of solutions for current businessoperations. Develop a deep understanding of core business processesand how performance is measured, and work with business andbusiness analytics teams to discern strategic and analytical dataand analytics needs and gaps. Utilizediagnostic/predictive/prescriptive analysis to derive businessinsights and direct/drive action that increases revenue, decreasescost, and/or mitigates risk. Possess a thorough understanding ofthe University systems and data sets, and be able to summarize anddescribe raw data sets for departmental use. Support validationprocesses to ensure data accuracy. Analyze data to align withorganizational goals and relay business impacts of findings throughdata-driven recommendations. Collaborate closely with businessunits and provide expert input on functional business topics.Streamline business processes by leveraging new or existingtechnology, including application and reporting development, whileadhering to internal development and publication standards. Provideoperational support to assigned business units' systems, includingtechnical assistance. Provide regular updates to customers onbusiness process improvement and new technology activities,maintaining a high level of customer service.

If the employee is required to travel in performing the duties and responsibilities of the position, the use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required for travel. Proof of a valid driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval, and liability insurance is required when driving in the performance of the employee’s position.

Compensation is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, along with University needs and external market conditions. Market benchmarks may be used, as appropriate, in combination with internal equity to ensure pay is fair and aligned with the broader compensation structure.
