Job description

The Adoption/Legal Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the Adoption/Legal Director and facilitating the timely and effective progression of permanency planning for children in care. This position focuses on coordinating and tracking all aspects of Kinship Guardianship (KinGap), Adoption, and interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC) cases, ensuring compliance with legal timelines, documentation requirements, and agency policies.


Duties & Responsibilities:

Provide direct supervision and guidance to the Adoption Expeditor, ensuring effective case coordination, adherence to timelines, and support in achieving permanency goals.


Education & Experience

BA, BSW or MSW and two (2) years' experience in the field of child welfare. At least one year of supervisory experience preferred. Demonstrable proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to efficiently manage case documentation and communicate and via email and scheduling software. Strong interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and support clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties for this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate clearly and effectively. The employee is occasionally required to sit and sloop, kneel, crouch or climb stairs. Must be able to travel independently within the community and to demonstrate good computer skills.
