The Orchards Michigan in Northwest, MI is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our team. This leadership role oversees onboarding, staffing, and patient care oversight to ensure high-quality nursing services.

The ADON will coach nurses, monitor budgets, conduct evaluations, and collaborate with staff across shifts. Strong communication, regulatory knowledge, and EHR proficiency are essential to maintain accurate records and efficient operation.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills to interact positively with staff, patients and families.
• Extensive knowledge of nursing best practices and healthcare laws.
• Strong written communication to compile reports and write evaluations.
• Analytical skills to interpret diagnostic information and financial data.

Responsibilities

• Hiring new nurses and onboarding by training them or assigning a trainer.
• Creating schedules to ensure nursing coverage for every shift.
• Coaching nurses to improve performance and handle discipline issues.
• Monitoring expenses to keep the facility within budget.
• Holding staff meetings to discuss patient status.
• Conducting employee evaluations identifying strengths and areas for improvement.
• Making rounds to assess patient status and observe nurses.
• Checking patient records to ensure accuracy and currency.
