Job summary

Northern Nevada State Veterans Home (NNSVH) in Sparks, NV, is hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing to provide clinical leadership across the nursing team and ensure high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, and survey readiness.

Reporting to the Director of Nursing, you will mentor RNs/LPNs/CNAs, lead staff development, coordinate QI/QA activities, and participate in hiring and onboarding. Relocation assistance is available; salary range is $86,000–$120,000 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (Nevada license or ability to obtain)
• Minimum 3 years of supervision in skilled nursing, post-acute, or long-term care
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
• Strong knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations
• Leadership/communication skills; on-call rotation
• Experience with PointClickCare preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to RNs, LPNs, and CNAs
• Support orientation, annual education, and ongoing staff training initiatives
• Coordinate Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance processes, including QAPI activities and corrective action plans
• Audit systems and documentation for compliance with state and federal regulations
• Support survey readiness efforts and participate in survey activities
• Partner on incident investigations and root-cause analysis initiatives
• Assist with staffing oversight and scheduling support to maintain appropriate coverage
• Participate in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and staff development activities
