Job summary

St. Andrew’s School seeks a mental health counselor to join the student life team and support social and emotional growth. You will provide short-term counseling, crisis assessment, and coordinate wellness initiatives for adolescents on a large campus.

The role requires a Master’s or Doctoral degree in school counseling and licensure eligibility in Delaware, with on-call coverage and collaboration with faculty and health services.

Qualifications

• Five years of counseling/therapy experience with adolescents.
• Boarding school experience is desirable.
• Knowledge of ethical/legal counseling considerations.
• Passion for working with adolescents.
• Generalist prepared for anxiety, depression, eating disorders; CBT knowledge present.
• Excellent communication with students, parents, faculty, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage a large adolescent caseload.
• Provide ongoing psychotherapy and short-term adjustment counseling; teach wellness course.
• Maintain positive professional relationships within the school community.
• Share on-call coverage during weeknights and weekends.
• Review testing and train counseling staff; maintain health records.
