Job summary

Suncoast Behavioral Health Center seeks an Adolescent Residential Therapist to conduct counseling for adolescents and families. You will interview and develop psychological histories, assess needs, and set treatment objectives within a multidisciplinary team.

The role involves group, individual, and family therapy, discharge planning, and coordinating aftercare with community resources. A Florida license and at least one year of pediatric/adolescent therapy experience are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work or mental health counseling from an accredited program.
• Current Florida license (LCSW/LMFT/LMHC/LMFTI/LMHCI) required.
• Minimum 1 year direct clinical experience with children/adolescents in therapy.
• Knowledge of human development across the lifespan; training in specialized modalities may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provides group, individual, and family therapy as scheduled and documents responses.
• Ensures psychosocial assessments are prepared for each patient within set timeframes.
• Oversees case management and discharge planning components of the Master Treatment Plan and reviews with patient and family.
• Develops appropriate aftercare plans and coordinates community support as needed.
• Reports known or suspected abuse of patients.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to achieve quality patient care.
