The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services in Staunton, VA is seeking a Part Time Registered Nurse (CCCA) to join the child and adolescent inpatient team.

Under supervision, the RN delivers age-appropriate psychiatric nursing care, promotes a safe, therapeutic environment, and collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to meet each patient’s complex needs. This role emphasizes clinical excellence, teamwork, and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Effective communication with patients and families.
• Ability to participate in an interdisciplinary team.
• Ability to lead educational groups.
• Ability to assess, plan, implement, & evaluate patient care in pediatric psychiatric setting.
• Competent with TOVA, CPR and knowledge of lab values for children & adolescents.
• Apply knowledge to meet child & adolescent needs in inpatient psychiatric setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-specific nursing care to children and adolescents with psychiatric conditions.
• Uphold the professional image of the Nursing Department and mentor other disciplines.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and use least restrictive measures.
