Patients and their families rely on CompassHealth Center whenincrisis – every day, wehelp people overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely.

About This Role

As the largest provider of PHP/IOP programs and psychiatric services in Illinois, Compass Health Center is one of the fastest-growing behavioral health organizations in the country. Launching in late 202 5 , our newest location in Golden Valley, MN, will be home to top local talent in behavioral health care. This interdisciplinary team of trailblazers will build our adolescent and adult programs from the ground up alongside the leadership of well-established clinicians and doctors working in PHP/IOP behavioral health care for the past decade.

As a Primary Therapist, you’ll work thoughtfully with our patients to develop and implement their individualized treatment plans. This role will consist of conducting individual therapy meetings, collaborating with patients’ outpatient teams, and leading patients through their overall treatment program. You’ll partner closely with the entirety of our treatment teams, including Group Therapists, Family Therapists, and Prescribers to ensure comprehensive and compassionate care.

This role will work with patients aged 12-18 in our Mood & Anxiety Program, while also offering the opportunity to be cross-trained within our Adolescent specialty programs and services: School Refusal, OCD/Complex Anxiety, Mental Health and Substance Use. The Adolescent Primary Clinical Therapist is ideal for someone who is eager to collaborate with an array of clinicians and patient populations, while broadening their clinical skillset through ample training and support.

What You'll Do:

  • Complete initial intake evaluation to determine diagnosis and appropriateness of program
  • Provide group and individual therapy
  • Provide family therapy as needed
  • Communicate with patients’ family members or support system, on a weekly basis or as needed
  • Coordinate care with patients’ outside providers to ensure continuity of care
  • Communicate with patients’ homeschool and attend school re-entry meetings
  • Create individualized weekly schedules for each patient based on need
  • Assess patients’ progress and need for higher level of care, transition plan and/or discharge
  • Chart progress of patients appropriately
  • Provide insurance utilization team with updates

Who You Are:

  • Hold the following licenses or certifications: LICSW, LPCC, MSW, LPC, LGSW, MFT, LMFT, PsyD, or PhD with 2 + years of clinical experience conducting individual and family therapy.
  • The ability to assist families and patients in talking about difficult topics is a necessity.
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to juggle multiple demands simultaneously in a fast paced and changing environment.
