La Amistad Behavioral Health Services, part of Universal Health Services (UHS), seeks a Mental Health Technician (MHT) for the Adolescent Male Unit on the 2nd shift. The role focuses on safety through structured programming and careful client observation and documentation.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, prefer a psychology-related degree, and experience in psychiatric settings. A shift differential of $1–$3 per hour is available, with excellent benefits and growth

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field preferred.
• Prefer experience in a psychiatric hospital setting as an MHT working with children, adolescents and/or adults.
• License/Certification: Not required.
• Skills: Demonstrates the ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Clear background from criminal activity.
• Physical Requirements: extensive walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs; able to lift over 50 lbs.
• Shift differential: $1 to $3 extra per hour.

Responsibilities

• Assists and monitors client’s activities of daily living.
• Interacts therapeutically with clients in one-to-one, community and group settings.
• Has a basic understanding of common psychiatric diagnoses.
• Maintains professional boundaries and effective communication with clients and staff.
