Job summary

UMMC is seeking a Mental Health Technician for Adolescent Behavioral Health at the Main Campus Jackson to support supervision and treatment in a safe, therapeutic environment. The role emphasizes crisis intervention, accurate charting, and compassionate patient care across adolescents and other patients as needed.

The position requires a psychology or mental health degree (Bachelor/Associate) or equivalent combination with two years of direct patient care experience in a mental health setting.

Qualifications

• Degree (Bachelor or Associate) in psychology or mental health.
• High School Diploma/GED with two years of direct patient care experience in a mental health facility.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and document patients' physical, physiological and behavioral status.
• Report observations to supervisors per procedures and standards.
• Provide care that promotes safety, comfort and a supportive environment.
• Participate in development and implementation of treatment plans.
• Attend group sessions, trainings and staff meetings.
• Engage in ongoing professional development through trainings and workshops.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and during crises.
• Serve on hospital or medical center committees or projects to enhance patient care.
• Exhibit exceptional customer service in all interactions.
