Job summary

TaraVista Behavioral Health in Devens, Massachusetts, seeks an Adolescent Mental Health Counselor for a part-time 24-hour split shift (11:00am - 7:30pm), including every other weekend and holiday rotation.

You will provide direct care on our inpatient psychiatric unit, support patients and families, conduct safety checks, de-escalation, and document in the EMR system as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Bachelor's preferred in psychology or human services.
• Experience as PCT/PCA, CNA or Medical Assistant is required.
• Bachelor’s degree may substitute for experience.
• Strong oral and written communication; maintain professional boundaries.
• Experience in psychiatric or substance inpatient settings and crisis intervention preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient observation and rounds.
• Assist staff with patient care while following treatment plans.
• Observe and monitor patient progress and report observations to staff.
• Develop a therapeutic relationship with patients while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living as needed.
• Provide supervision of patients' activities.
• Ensure safety monitoring of patients on the unit.
• Process admissions belongings.
• Complete documentation in the EMR system.
• Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team.
