Job summary

La Amistad Behavioral Health Services is seeking a full-time Therapist to provide counseling for adults and adolescents in a residential setting. You will conduct individual and group psychotherapy, assess needs, and collaborate with families and the treatment team to plan discharge and post-care support.

Qualified candidates hold a Master’s in social work or counseling and Florida licensure (LCSW/LMFT/LMHC etc.) with at least one year of relevant clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, counseling or other related fields.
• One year direct clinical experience in family, individual and group therapy with children and/or adolescents.
• Current Florida license such as LCSW, LMFT, LMFTI, LMHC or LMHCI.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual psychotherapy sessions for residents' caseload at least weekly.
• Conduct group psychotherapy sessions for residents' group caseload at least four times per week.
• Conduct specialized groups as assigned based on education, training and experience.
• Establish rapport and gather data; determine readiness for treatment and priorities.
• Coordinate discharge planning with treatment team and family.
• Understand common psychiatric diagnoses and apply appropriate interventions.
• Documentation as required by facility policy.
• Assess age-specific behaviors and adapt approach accordingly.
