Job summary

Suncoast Behavioral Health Center provides direct patient care in a residential setting for adolescents ages 11–17 with behavioral, emotional, educational, family and social challenges. The Mental Health Technician (MHT) supervises patients during treatment, recreation and education, assessing changes in social behavior and clinical status while ensuring safety with least restrictive interventions.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED required.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in psychology or related field (increase in wages).
• Preferred six months' experience in residential psychiatry or other childcare facility/agency experience in comparable position.
• Must be able to pass a Level 2 Background Screening to work in Healthcare (AHCA) and Pre-employment Drug Test.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care duties in a residential behavioral health setting.
