Job summary

CenterPoint Health's Paris Behavioral Health Adolescent Unit is seeking a Senior Behavioral Health Technician to support adolescents through challenging moments, under RN supervision, in a safe, structured environment.

This role emphasizes patient monitoring, daily living activities, crisis intervention, and teamwork with the care staff. A High School Diploma is required; BLS and Handle with Care certifications should be obtained within the stated timelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
• Nursing Assistant Certificate preferred.
• BLS and Handle with Care certifications required within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of an RN, assists in assuring optimal patient care.
• Patient Monitoring & Safety: Observe patients closely, document behaviors, and ensure a safe, secure environment.
• Support Daily Living Activities: Assist patients with hygiene, meals, routines, and basic care needs.
• Implement Treatment Plans: Follow care plans developed by clinicians, including leading or supporting therapeutic activities.
• Crisis Intervention: De-escalate situations and respond appropriately to behavioral or emotional crises.
• Documentation & Communication: Record patient progress and communicate updates to nurses, therapists, and the care team.
