Job summary

Riverside Mental Health and Recovery Center in Hampton, VA is seeking a Psych Tech for full-time day shifts to support adolescents, children and adults in psychiatric and chemical dependency settings.

You will perform intake screenings, observe patients, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and individualized care plans. The role includes assisting with daily living activities and providing therapeutic activities as directed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year behavioral health experience preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification within 30 days is required; First Aid within 30 days is required.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat children, adolescents, and adults seeking psychiatric or chemical dependency treatment.
• Document intake screenings and plan of care with accurate patient information.
• Collaborate with families, referral sources, and team members for care coordination.
• Monitor patient safety and respond to unusual symptoms or behavior as directed by medical staff.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and provide support as needed.
