Job summary

Riverside Health System in Hampton, Virginia is seeking a dedicated Behavioral Health Aide to support patients across age groups with psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment needs.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care, perform intake assessments, and assist with activities of daily living while ensuring patient safety under supervision of nursing leadership.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
• 1 year Behavioral health experience (Preferred)
• CPR/BLS Certification within 30 Days (Required)
• First Aid within 30 Days (Required)

Responsibilities

• Assesses and treats children, adolescents, and adults seeking psychiatric and/or chemical dependency treatment.
• Collaborate with referral sources, patients, families, and team members regarding care coordination.
• Serves as the initial contact for patients, families, referral sources and/or allied agencies seeking intervention or support.
• Leads patients in therapeutic and recreational activities.
• Monitors patients' physical and emotional wellbeing and reports unusual behavior or physical ailments to the medical staff.
• Observe patients for safety as directed by RN/LPN including rounding, direct observation, sitters.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living including hygiene, laundry, dressing, and personal care.
