Job summary

Pyramid Healthcare, a leader in behavioral health services, seeks a qualified Teacher for our Partial Hospitalization Programs in Southern New Jersey to support adolescent students with their schoolwork.

The position is full-time (40 hours/week) with a starting compensation of $55,000 per year, commensurate with skills and experience. The role requires New Jersey State Teacher Certification and a background in special education is preferred. Join a team dedicated to holistic student development.

Qualifications

• New Jersey State Teacher Certification is required.
• Special Education Certification and experience in behavioral health or alternative education settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional services during scheduled academic programming within the PHP.
• Coordinate with the school liaison to obtain assignments and materials for students.
• Adapt curriculum to meet individual student learning needs.
• Incorporate flexible teaching methods to address academic and social-emotional challenges.
• Collaborate with the Special Education Coordinator to implement accommodations and modifications in IEPs/504 Plans.
• Create a structured, supportive learning environment aligned with therapeutic programming.
• Monitor student progress, engagement, and behavior; communicate concerns.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and coordinate with PHP staff.
• Communicate with home school districts and families regarding progress.
• Attend IEP meetings and parent conferences as required.
• Prepare transition summaries and final grade reports.
• Maintain confidentiality of company information.
• Complete required trainings and accreditation/licensing requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education

New Jersey State Teacher Certification

Special Education Certification (preferred)

Experience in behavioral health or alternative education settings (preferred)
