Job summary

College of the Albemarle invites applications for a 9-month Instructor/Associate Degree Nursing faculty position. The role focuses on providing knowledge in nursing and promoting student-centered learning using diverse teaching strategies and technology to engage students.

Supervision is provided by the Department Chair, Associate Degree Nursing, with responsibilities including course development, syllabus updates, and participation in curriculum planning.

Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from a regionally accredited college or university OR BSN with current MSN enrollment.
  • North Carolina RN license (unrestricted) or Virginia license if supervising in VA.
  • Two calendar years of full-time RN clinical nursing practice.
  • Knowledge of the community college system and COA's mission.
  • Strong communication and computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned courses across classroom, lab, clinical, including online/hybrid formats.
  • Load course syllabi and course documents on MyCourses/Canvas and update as needed.
  • Develop supplemental teaching materials and implement new teaching strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance; submit reports timely.
  • Participate in curriculum development, program assessment, and annual reviews.
