Job summary

North Central Texas College is seeking a Professor for the Associate Degree Nursing program. This 9-month contract, payable over twelve months, may be stationed at multiple campuses or offered online. Travel between campuses and local or out-of-town meetings may be required.

The role requires an RN, a Master’s degree or equivalent with Nursing graduate hours, and Texas Board of Nurse Examiners approval. Teaching responsibilities span classroom, lab, and community activities to support student

Qualifications

• RN from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Master’s degree in Nursing or Master’s degree in another field with 6 hours in a graduate Nursing program.
• OR a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with at minimum 50% completed towards a Master’s degree in Nursing.
• Must be approved by Board of Nurse Examiners of Texas.

Responsibilities

• Meets class as scheduled and follows departmental policy for cancellations.
• Starts and ends class on time and maintains grade/attendance records.
• Posts office hours and is available to students.
• Develops a syllabus and prepares for each class.
• Maintains college level rigor and expects high academic excellence.
• Uses varied instructional methods to enhance learning.
• Develops tests/projects/evaluations for courses taught.
• Considers Student Course Evaluations to improve instruction.
• Communicates effectively and promptly with students and colleagues.
• Provides feedback on student assignments and encourages student questions and engagement.
