Job summary

Durham Technical Community College seeks an Instructor in the Associate Degree Nursing Department to plan, deliver, and evaluate classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction.

The role requires a master's in nursing, NC RN license, and demonstrated teaching/learning preparation for adults; maternal-child or medical-surgical nursing experience is preferred. You will advise students and help develop course materials and program objectives.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in nursing required.
• Current unrestricted RN license in NC.
• Evidence of teaching/learning principles for adult education.
• Experience in Maternal-Child, Medical-Surgical or Psychiatric Nursing preferred.
• Two years RN experience with 40 hours/week in clinical setting.
• One year of teaching experience at the AD nursing level or higher.
• Ability to teach online and hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Teach 18–20 contact hours per semester with a flexible schedule.
• Prepare instructional plans for each class session.
• Enforce academic policy and guidelines.
• Serve as educational advisor to students.
• Develop and enforce course outlines, syllabi, and curriculum plans.
• Contribute to competency-based education initiatives and materials.
• Participate in program, department, and college meetings and activities.
