Job summary

Desert Care Network in Indio, CA is seeking a Per Diem Admitting Representative to greet patients and visitors, collect demographics, financial and medical information, and support registration and insurance verification.

You will coordinate billing, collect patient liabilities such as co-pays and deductibles, obtain necessary authorizations, and liaise with hospital staff to expedite admissions and the billing process while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3 - 5 years recent experience in acute care hospital registration or business office environment.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal and third party billing and collection procedures
• Experience or knowledge in admissions, registrations and insurance verification's is essential
• Ability to speak Spanish (preferred)
• Medical Terminology - preferred

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors and register them with demographic, financial and medical information.

Job Summary Job Shift: Days Job Type: Per Diem Hours: 12HR Shifts The Admitting Representative greets patients and visitors in person or on the telephone; obtains demographic, financial and medical information for registration and identification, coordinates and assists in the completion of all activities relating to patients finances, facilitates the collection and distribution of information and expedites a smooth and timely billing and collection process while adhering to department policies and procedures. Requests and collects any patient liabilities due such as, co-payment, deductibles, co-insurance and compact rates and follows the department scripting for assigned area. Monitors and expedites the necessary authorizations and approvals for hospital emergency room, outpatient service or elective surgeries per the designated insurance carriers. Acts as a resource and liaison for employees within the department, as well as other inter-related hospital staff and all "guests" that need assistance or information.

• Knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal and third party billing and collection procedures
