Spartanburg Community College information/admissions specialist supports the admissions process by reviewing and entering applications, processing documents, and assisting Admissions Counselors to move applicants to student status. The role monitors applicant progress and maintains communication to ensure timely acceptance.
The incumbent greets visitors, provides campus information, coordinates with Admissions and Outreach, and handles inquiries from prospective students.
The information/admissions specialist will provide support throughout the admissions process from reviewing/entering admission applications, processing all supporting documentation; to assisting the Admissions Counselors as needed in moving an applicant to student status. The information/admissions specialist will monitor applicants' progress through the admissions requirements, maintaining constant communication to support a timely and successful acceptance to the College. The information/admissions specialist will also routinely serve as the initial contact in Admissions and be responsible for greeting visitors and providing information/directions about the college and admissions providing information regarding general College information and other inquiries requested by visitors and prospective students.
High School diploma or GED. An associate degree; or a high school diploma and two years related work experience. The ability to type at a corrected rate of 35 words per minute and basic knowledge of computer operations.
Works in an office environment. Periodically required to work extended hours, including weekends, to support enrollment and registration for special events; overnight travel is rarely required.
