Job summary

Burrell Behavioral Health is seeking an Admission Specialist in Salem, MO to coordinate admissions and intake for new clients, screen clients by phone and in person, and maintain accurate records and census data. You will work with Care Managers and billing to ensure smooth service delivery.

The role requires strong communication, multitasking, and customer service skills in a fast-paced environment; a valid driver’s license and successful background checks are required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Knowledge of confidentiality requirements related to behavioral health and substance use treatment services.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Must complete background screenings including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint checks.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate admissions and intake processes for new clients.
  • Facilitate client screenings by phone and in-person to assess eligibility and service needs.
  • Document referrals promptly and accurately in designated systems.
  • Maintain program census and waiting lists per standards.
  • Build positive relationships with referral sources, clients, and team members.
  • Process admissions documentation including releases of information and residency verification.
  • Coordinate with billing to ensure admissions, transfers, and discharges are timely.
