An established university seeks a dedicated individual to lead recruitment efforts in China. Assists in planning and coordinating Admissions and Recruitment activities in Asia, with a specific focus on the recruitment of studentsin China. Serves as the lead counselor and key resource to the Associate Director of International Admissions on China recruitment and strategy. Identify and build key relationships with Chinese schools, counselors, and prospective students. Liaison with key university offices and vendors with interest to admissions interest in regard to China recruitment. Updates and manages WeChat accounts with campus partners. Plans and implements admissions counselor/reader training and development programs. Interviews and counsels students and their parents to provide admission information for students considering attending MSU from China and the surrounding region. Counsels and provides guidance to international student families (preferably in Mandarin) as they develop education plans. Reviews applications for admission with an understanding of international education systems in China and surrounding areas to determine eligibility for admission to the university. Travels to visit secondary schools/community colleges and attends events to inform students and families about the university. Participates in office-wide events and recruitment programming.
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four year college degree program (BS preferred) in Management, or Business. One to three years of related and progressive experience in international admissions, recruitment, or education (desired experience within the Chinese market) at a regionally accredited institution. Knowledge and familiarity with Chinese education systems, culture, and language is highly desired. Experience counseling students or prospective students on issues related to overseas study, education, and transition. High preference for fluency in Chinese. Must have at least one year of experience reviewing applications at a US institution.
