Job summary

American Addiction Centers is seeking an Admissions Nurse to join the treatment team. You will perform nursing admissions, triage clients, and coordinate with staff to ensure appropriate care levels within the facility.

The role requires an RN license in the state of operation and a solid understanding of mental health and addiction treatment. You will uphold infection control, documentation, and interdepartmental communication standards while supporting patient and family needs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing is required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Active Nursing License in the state of operation.
• Knowledge of mental health, addiction, and treatment preferred.
• Detail oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to handle confidential information and manage time wisely.
• Working knowledge of Google products (Gmail, Sheets, Docs, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Complete the nursing admissions process, including explaining services and intake screenings.
• Deliver high-quality customer service standards of care and productivity for clients.
• Review admission referrals and coordinate with navigators for proper placement.
• Triage all incoming clients for the intended level of care.
• Document patient care services by charting in client and department records.
• Maintain infection-control policies and safe medication handling.
• Maintain client confidentiality and interdepartmental continuity of care.
• Coordinate with providers and nurses to plan patient care.
• Attend educational workshops and participate in team problem solving.
