Join to apply for the Admissions Representative role at American Public University System

The Admissions Representative partners with potential students interested in attending American Military University and American Public University. This role involves helping potential students discover their goals and needs, advising them on solutions and enrollment decisions, working towards an action plan to achieve their goals, and ultimately making admissions decisions regarding student fulfillment of admissions requirements. The representative uses marketing materials and opportunities provided by APUS to serve assigned potential students as determined by management. This is a student-facing professional position in higher education. It reports to an Admissions Manager or Senior Admissions Manager, who in turn report to a Director of Admissions or Director of Prospect Management, and ultimately to the Vice President of Admissions.

Responsibilities:
  1. Consult and advise potential students to discover goals, advise on solutions around degree planning, payment, transfer credit, and other enrollment decisions, and implement an action plan to support students in achieving their goals.
  2. Provide regular follow-up to potential students via telephone, email, or other electronic means, and make educated admissions decisions regarding fulfillment of admission requirements and follow-up strategies.
  3. Protect student privacy in compliance with federal laws such as FERPA.
  4. Evaluate academic records and documents of potential students for admission to APUS programs.
  5. Demonstrate skill in using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and other admissions software applications.
  6. Resolve routine and escalated concerns professionally and efficiently.
  7. Maintain productive relationships with other university departments such as Financial Aid, Student Services, and Marketing.
  8. Meet or exceed performance goals and metrics set by department leadership.
  9. Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to work schedules.
  10. Follow recruitment campaigns and follow-up strategies.
  11. Perform other duties and assist with special projects as assigned.
  12. Comply with US Department of Education Program Integrity Rules regarding incentive payments in student recruiting and admissions activities.
Minimum Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of work experience in telemarketing, sales, service, online, or higher education preferred.
Education:
  • Associate's Degree.
