Job summary

Northfield Hospital + Clinics is seeking a Part-Time Admissions Representative to interview patients at admission, collect demographic and insurance information, and obtain required signatures. Responsibilities include preparing patient data for hospital departments, scanning documents, and updating accounts.

The role also covers routine clerical tasks, newborn and swingbed account handling, and adherence to emergency codes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent verbal communication and professional phone skills required.
• Ability to lift up to 15 lbs. and handle basic clerical duties.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients upon admission to collect demographic and insurance information.
• Enters data into the computer and reviews pre-admission information for accuracy.
• Obtains required signatures on legal consents and forms (Medicare Rights, etc.).
• Scans documents onto patient accounts and maintains records.
• Registers or transfers newborns, clinical, surgery, observation, and swingbed accounts as requested.
• Performs other clerical duties including filing, mail sorting, scanning, and stuffing statements.
• Understands and handles Emergency Response codes appropriately.

Job Summary

The Admissions Representative interviews patients upon admission to the Hospital; records necessary personal information, secures required signatures; prepares and supplies patient data to various hospital departments.

Compensation

We are committed to providing wage ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, educationand internal equity considerations. The hourly wage range for this position is$18.74-$26.45.This range reflects the base salary for this position.

Key Accountabilities

Conducts personal interview to obtain required demographic and insurance information and enters into the computer.

Reviews pre-admission information for accuracy and completeness.

Obtains required signatures on legal consents, insurance forms, and Medicare Rights forms.

Scans documents appropriately onto patient accounts.

Registers or transfers newborns, clinical, surgery, observation, recurring and swingbed accounts as requested both timely and accurately.

Performs other clerical duties as assigned, including filing, sorting mail, scanning and stuffing of statements.

Understand and handles the Emergency Response “Codes” appropriately.

Qualifications

High School Diploma, or equivalent

Excellent verbal communication and professional phone skills

Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.

Healthcare experience/medical terminology preferred

Work Schedule and Hours

• 24hours per two-week pay period
• Every other Saturday and Sunday from9:00 am -9:00 pm
