The Senior Assistant Director for Compliance, Policies, and Liaisonships provides strategic leadership for first-year and transfer enrollment processes within Undergraduate Admission. The individual is responsible for developing and implementing compliance with federal, state, university and campus rules and regulations, coordinates all communication and admission decisions between Undergraduate Admission and specialty and talent-based schools, e.g. Arts and Architecture, School of Engineering, School of Nursing, School of Music, and Theatre Film and Television. This position oversees all aspects of post-decision inquiries including but not limited to change/drop in grades, missing transcripts, deferral requests, and when needed, rescinding admission decisions. This involves leading and delivery of comprehensive training for staff involved in each process, and requires coordination across multiple units within UA and communication with campus partners to support a timely and consistent process. The incumbent must be able to interact with staff, students, and parents with sensitivity and discretion while maintaining confidentiality at all times. As a subject-matter expert in domestic and international credential evaluation, the Senior Assistant Director independently interprets complex admission requirements and determines acceptance of transfer coursework from California Community Colleges, UC Campuses and other 4 year institutions in California, out-of-state institutions, and foreign universities. This individual serves on the Admission Resource Team and assists with the training and certification of first year readers The position supervises professional staff, contributes to campus and UC systemwide committees and policy initiatives, and serves as a key resource to Undergraduate Admission leadership.
