Job summary

Qualifications

• Basic general office skills and strong interpersonal/communication abilities.
• Prior medical insurance experience and familiarity with medical terminology preferred.
• Awareness of Financial Counseling and PTO/Work-Life balance offerings.

Responsibilities

• Register/admit patients and verify demographics and insurance information.
• Obtain required signatures and scan into electronic medical records (HPF/HBF).
• Identify co-pays/deductibles and initiate upfront collections for inpatient and outpatient accounts.
• Refer patients to hospital financial counselors as needed.
• Initiate precertification for admissions and verify precertification for outpatients.
